STEPS FOR COACHES

USA HOCKEY COACHING REQUIREMENTS

• USA Hockey Number Due – Prior to Registering
• This number is renewed yearly and is needed to electronically look up your coaching profile. 
• Get your USA Hockey Number Here
• Register on Crossbar/MAYRA Website
• Please click the black button that says REGISTER on this page
• We need contact information and which level you plan on applying for
• SafeSport training Due– Prior to first organized practice
• Every MAYRA volunteer, (including coaches) must complete SafeSport training annually.
• You are only able to renew your Safe Sport when you are in your thirty (30) day window of expiring. PLEASE check your email for the notification from USA Hockey. The email will provide you with a link to the training. You can also check your USA Hockey portal to see if your window to complete. 
• Register for Safesport HERE.
• USA Hockey background check Due – Prior to first organized practice
• (EVERY TWO YEARS ONLY)
• Every Minnesota Hockey Coach is asked to complete a background check every two years. Here's how to proceed:
• Apply for a background check HERE.
• CEP Training Due - 12/31
• Every upper level (Squirt/10U and above) must have a valid CEP number. (If your number expires 12/31/2023 you will need to take a course prior to 12/31/2023)
• If you are ONLY coaching Mites/8U you can coach with an expired CEP number.  
• If your CEP certification is going to expire on or before 12/31/2023, you will need to submit proof that you are registered for a CEP course with your coaches application. You will not be rostered as a coach without this.
• Register for a CEP Class HERE (Registration begins September 1st)
• Age appropriate Online modules Due– Prior to first organized practice
• Every coach also needs to complete the age-appropriate online module for the age they wish to coach. 
• 8U(Mites), 10U(Squirts), 12U(Peewee), 13U+(Bantams)
• Sign up for an online module HERE.
• MANDATORY CONCUSSION TRAINING Due – Prior to first organized practice
• (EVERY TWO YEARS ONLY)
• Every rostered Coach must take a concussion training. If you did Modules either last year or this year we just need the form signed.

HEAD COACH MANDATORY MEETING 2024

HEAD Coaches for Squirts and above are only required to attend one of the Mandatory Coaches Meetings that are scheduled
