Hiring Bantam Coaches

NOW ACCEPTING COACHING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2024-2025 BANTAM SEASON

Position Titles: MAYRA Bantam Head and Assistant Coach(es)

Purpose of Position: To teach and support a variety of skills, both on and off ice, and supervise the players to create a safe and welcoming environment.

Skills & Qualifications

Skills: Ability to communicate in a highly effective manner with players, parents, coaching staff and members of the Player Development Committee, Hockey Committee and MAYRA Board if applicable.

Ability to effectively diffuse intense and sometimes difficult situations.

Ability to instruct, motivate and lead players

Qualifications:

Position preferred to be a non-parent coaching position.

Coach must have 1 year of coaching experience with an association program.

Duties/Activities/Responsibilities:

1. Attend all player evaluations or designate an alternative.

2. Oversee all team activities.

3. Manage the safety of the players.

4. Prepare appropriate plans for each practice and provide appropriate communication to coaching staff prior to practice.

5. Comply with all the necessary rules, guidelines, regulations, etc. USA Hockey, D10 Hockey and MAYRA.

6. Coach is expected to continue to act as a role model and their actions need to reflect the commitment they have made to create a safe, social and welcoming environment.

7. Work collaboratively with an assistant(s) coaches.

8. Attend one of the D-10 mandatory coaches meetings scheduled, information is housed on MAYRA website under the Coaches Section.

Location: Practices will be held at the Mora Civic Center with games played throughout the D10 area and tournaments played throughout MN.

Home Tournament
January 24-26, 2025

Certifications/Training Requirements:

1. MN Hockey Background Screening;

2. USA CEP Certification;

3. USA Hockey Registration;

4. USA Hockey Modules Completed;

5. USA Hockey Safe Sport training completed;

6. Concussion Training Completed

Time Commitment:

1. Coach is expected to attend all team events including practices, games and other team sanctioned events, unless an emergency situation arises.

2. Coach is expected to plan and hold a minimum of one parent/coach meeting to communicate team expectations and other expectations throughout the season as needed.

3. Participate with 1-2 scheduled games per week and 2-3 practices per week, participate in tournaments –MAYRA hosted tournament and two (2) out of town tournaments (location to be determined).

4. Bantams will have around 60 hours of on-ice practice time.

Stipend:

Bantam Head Coach stipend is $2,500 per season. Hotel reimbursement for away tournaments and a per diem of $100 a weekend for food and gas as coach determines necessary.

$1,500 stipend is provided to the Bantam Assistant Coach(es), amount to be split between the Assistant Coaches evenly per season. Hotel reimbursement for away tournaments and a per diem of $100 a weekend for food and gas as coach determines necessary.
